September in Detroit is a well-designed experience

Downtown Detroit is being "decked out" with artistry and innovation for Detroit Month of Design. Get ready for a well-designed experience as Bedrock and Design Core partner to celebrate with a series of downtown initiatives, experiences and promotions throughout September.

In its 15th year, Detroit’s 2025 Month of Design will feature immersive design experiences including exhibitions, installations, studio visits, product launches, artist talks, tours, workshops and parties. The 2025 Month of Design theme, “City of Design,” highlights the power of design to drive bold solutions for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—tackling challenges like equity, cultural heritage, technological innovation, AI, education and community resilience.

For the month of September, five local artists will collaborate with five downtown businesses to exhibit custom artwork, providing visitors with an opportunity to see custom artworks as they shop uniquely Detroit wares.

We’re rolling out the red carpet with a curated crew of influencers to help you shop and sip in style. This exclusive downtown tour has stops at a a curated collection of downtown participating retailers, all serving up drinks and sweet treats for you to enjoy while you browse. The cherry on top? Every ticket holder gets a gift bag packed with goodies and gift cards from Bedrock tenants—perfect for discovering your next favorite find.

This time, we’ve teamed up with local artist KaceyKal to create an exclusive collection of custom-designed water bottles that capture the bold, artistic spirit of Detroit.

You can see them on display at Create by Decked Out Detroit and the Shinola Store on Woodward Avenue from September 1–30. Want one? Just spend $30 or more at a participating retailer in September and claim your bottle—while supplies last.
